Letters of Maria Celeste: 31 August 1623 Most Illustrious and Beloved Lord Father I have read with tremendous pleasure the beautiful letter that you sent to share with me. I thank you for that, and I return it to you with the hope, however, of being able to see it again sometime in the future, along with others and more. I enclose a letter I have written to Vincenzio, asking you, whenever it is convenient, to please see that it gets to him. I give thanks to the Lord, rejoicing with you in your recovery, and I pray you to look after yourself as carefully as you possibly can, at least until you have regained your usual level of well-being. I thank you, too, for all the kindnesses of late, although truly, while you were ill, I almost wish you had not lavished so much thoughtfulness on us. I send you every loving greeting, together with Suor Arcangela, and I pray our Lord to bless you with the fullness of His grace. From San Matteo, the last day of August 1623. Most affectionate daughter, |
